Call to Order

Brad called the meeting to order at 7:04pm, and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance

Roll Call                                                                                Lane Heatherwick

Lane called the roll. There were 11 directors, and 22 members and guests present.

Secretary's Report                                                             -Andy Rousonelos

Brad asked if everyone had received their minutes, and if there were any additions or corrections. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Ron. It was seconded by Pat and passed by all present.

Treasure's Report                                                              -Fred Lestina

Fred reported no income for the month. The club expenses included $160 for Porta-Potties for the Picnic, $2805 to Larry Marek for show hauling, and an additional $2000 bonus rent check to Steve Speiss for the use of his machinery at the show. A motion was made by Jerry to accept the report as presented. It was seconded by Jeannie and passed by all present.

Old Business

Brad reported that he has been handing out our extra show calendars to our excellent sponsors and they have been a big hit. Brian plans to do them again next year.

Lane reported that the corn crib had been stood up and anchored down. It is ready to be filled with corn and the roof will be replaced when it is full. Thank you to Jack Toepper, Lane Heatherwick, Charlie Kestel, Jerry Kinsella, Jean Kestel, Jay Rosael, and Ron Schubbe for their help. An additional thanks were made to Steve Spiess for the use of his machinery in standing it up, and boring holes in the ground for anchors. The crib has yet to be filled.

Jess reported that the show had been switched back to feature the club, and the gallery has been updated. She is in the process of digitizing our archives.

We have two Threshing machines and a large sawmill that will need to be stored, they have generously been stored by members for several years but need to be relocated.

New Business

It was suggested that we start planning our 2025 and ahead features, a list will be compiled of all our past features so that we can see what brand is due to be featured.

We still would like to donate trees to Steve for his yard, but he is still working with his arborist to determine what type of trees and where they should be planted.

Brad saw an FFA event at the Newark 4th of July celebration that would be a good way to get younger members interested in our club. FFA Teams would sign up for a “tractor pull” where they would hook up to the front with a chain or rope and see who can pull it the furthest. The group seemed to think it would be a great idea.

Open Discussion

It has been suggested by several members that we should move our Tractor Pull from Friday to Sunday to allow the folks with day jobs to compete. Points were made for both sides, but in order to keep Art Downs as our announcer and to keep the pull ending before the showgrounds close for the day, we would have to keep it on Friday. Ron made a motion to keep the schedule the same, it was seconded by Jack and passed by all present.

It was also brought up that we still have sound issues during the tractor pull, and need speakers on the same side as the spectators so they can hear the announcements while the pull is going.

Adjournment:

Alan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  It was seconded by Larry, and was passed by all present.
