Call to Order                                                                  -Brad Eike

Brad started our Christmas party off with the Pledge of Allegiance, then invited John Cronin to give a blessing on our food, the farmers who produce it, and all our members. He also thanked Larry, Lane, Charlie, and Bob for the meat, and all our guests for providing such a feast.

Roll Call                                                                          -Lane Heatherwick

Lane called the roll. There were 9 directors, and 60 members and guests present.

Secretary's Report                                                        -Charlie Kestel

Brad asked if everyone had received their minutes, and if there were any additions or corrections. There were several copies available. Ron made a motion to accept the minutes as published. Eric seconded that motion, and it was passed by all present.

Treasure's Report                                                          -Fred Lestina

Fred gave us a very short report, including the bottom line in our checkbook. Jeff made the motion to accept the report as presented, seconded by Larry Eipers. It was passed by all present.

Old Business

  • The club has been losing members at an alarming rate recently. We lost Larry See in November, Ron Hnetkovsky on Jan. 3, John Evans on Jan. 6, and Al Klausing’s wife Deb on Jan.11th. Al and Deb were married for 37 years, and Al has been a member of the club since 1971.

  • Andy and Phil reported that neither John Deere, nor Case IH, are offering tours at this time. If we have a bus tour lined up in the future, the Green Club, and Chapter 2 might be interested in attending with us. They will try for next January.

  • Lane reported that he, Andy, and Jim Robbins are plotting the course for the upcoming tractor ride starting at the #150 Union Hall.  It will cover 25 miles out, and 25 miles back.  Besides the Hall, we will stop at the Rousonelos Farm, & Vilt’s greenhouse. Lane, Jack Toepper, Jim, and Andy are also investigating the possibility of touring the hall in February.

  • Lane, Jay, Jerry Kinsella, and Bob are working on the engine. Research revealed that it is 101 years old, and they hope to have it running within the next 2 weeks.

New Business

  • It was reported that Kurt Aumann sold a 1913 Case #1030 for a mere $1.4 Million. It was the highest selling tractor in 2022. The second highest selling tractor brought only $535,000.

  • Is there any interest in having WCTA calendars made? Jess and Colleen Kestel volunteered to look into the cost and other particulars.

  • The Peotone FFA will hold their silent Auction on February 26th. Do we want to sell raffle tickets there? Jim Robbins will be attending their alumnae meeting to ask, and will report back.

  • Art Downs was paid by the club for his work at our show, and he has turned it back as a donation.
