Call to Order                                                                  -Brad Eike

Brad called the meeting to order at 7:04pm and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call                                                                          -Lane Heatherwick

Lane called the roll.  There were 10 directors, and 11 members and guests present.

Secretary's Report                                                                   -Charlie Kestel

Brad asked if everyone had received their minutes, and if there were any additions or corrections. There were several copies available.  Henry made a motion to accept the minutes as published. Ron seconded that motion, and it was passed by all present.

Treasure's Report                                                                    -Fred Lestina

Fred reported income of $1616.65. That was accounted for by donations, dues, monthly meeting donations, minus $733.35 payment for six Farm Collector Show Directories, which we will recoup when we sell them. Our other expenses were $857.48. We paid $490 for advertising, and Club expenses and postage of $367.48. Alan made a motion to accept the report as presented. It was seconded by Pat and Russ and was passed by all present.

Old Business

  • Brad displayed an example of the sign design, approved by the directors, to be mounted on the thresher, with the new dates.

  • He also reported on the Dyersville Toy Show. It was a wet show, with rainwater running through some of the tents. Fred and Brad are having an umbrella made for the Minnie Pedal Tractor.

  • The” bucket brigade” was discussed next. Brad will contact the woman in Rockdale to try to set a time when we can come to get a ton of free coal, out of her basement. So far, we have Ron, Jay, Phil, Brian, James Quigley, Henry, and John Cronin as volunteers.

New Business

  • Manhattan is having a Christmas Parade on December 3. There were no volunteers at our meeting, and Brad made some calls. The club decided to pass on this opportunity, thinking that it is to early to be advertising the show. We were also invited to enter the Peotone Christmas Parade, but we declined for the same reason.

  • At the Director’s meeting, held before this meeting, the price of entry to our show was discussed from every direction. The directors finally settled on $8.00 for adults, and $4.00 for children. A motion was made, and passed by all present.

  • The Christmas Party will be held in the church fellowship hall at 1pm January 8, 2023.

  • Our food schedule for this year is:   A -F   Desserts

G – M   Salads, Deviled Eggs, or Rolls

N -S   Hot Potatoes or Stuffing

                                                                   T -Z   Vegetable Side Dishes

Charlie and Lane will cook turkey, and Bob and Larry will provide ham. The Club will provide Pop, water, coffee, and table service.

Brad’s Comments

  • Brad sent a Thank You to Bev. Homerding, Barb Rainford, and Jean for the cookies and treats provided at our meetings.

  • We also send a big thank you to Pat, Matt, and James Quigley for their donation of one of a kind, pedal tractor size equipment, to be used for the club’s benefit

  • Brad wants us to decide what tractors to feature in the year 2024 and 2025. Andy and Brian motioned to feature J.I.Case for 2024. We still need to decide on 2025.

  • The club directed Fred to pay $500 to Peotone FFA, $200 each to Art Downs, Dan Lowe, and Dennis, and $25 to Jack Toepper for all their help and fuel supplied to the club.
